Varietas bawang putih TTU dikenal berukuran kecil, namun memiliki aroma yang kuat dan khas, sehingga sangat diminati masyarakat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Menurut Kepala Laboratorium Hayati Kupang, Corry Nai Ulu, pengembangan kultur jaringan ini bertujuan memperbesar ukuran umbi tanpa menghilangkan aroma khasnya. \u201cIni merupakan pilot project atau tahap awal yang sedang kami lakukan. Data BPS 2023 menunjukkan, nilai impor bawang putih Indonesia mencapai lebih dari Rp12 triliun per tahun. Produktivitas bawang putih nasional pun masih rendah, rata-rata 7,35 ton\/ha, jauh tertinggal dibandingkan Tiongkok yang mencapai 24,69 ton\/ha (FAO 2022).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kepala UPTD PKDLHP, Dewi Manek, menambahkan bahwa pengembangan kultur jaringan ini adalah langkah strategis untuk melestarikan sekaligus meningkatkan nilai ekonomi varietas lokal. \u201cKalau berhasil, bawang putih TTU bisa naik kelas menjadi produk unggulan NTT dan ikut mengurangi ketergantungan impor,\u201d ujarnya.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"732\" height=\"312\" src=\"https:\/\/distankp.nttprov.go.id\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/17866FC4-BF1C-4A0F-840D-1A9CA850C190.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6735\" style=\"width:793px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/distankp.nttprov.go.id\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/17866FC4-BF1C-4A0F-840D-1A9CA850C190.png 732w, https:\/\/distankp.nttprov.go.id\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/17866FC4-BF1C-4A0F-840D-1A9CA850C190-300x128.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 732px) 100vw, 732px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Potensi Bawang Putih TTU<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Bawang putih TTU memiliki sejumlah potensi yang layak dikembangkan:<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ciri khas rasa &amp; aroma: ukurannya memang kecil, tetapi aromanya tajam dan rasanya lebih gurih dibanding bawang putih impor. Ini menjadikannya favorit untuk masakan tradisional Timor maupun kuliner nusantara.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Nilai ekonomis: harga bawang putih TTU di pasaran lokal relatif lebih tinggi karena kualitas rasanya yang khas.
